What Are Formation Groups?
Formation Groups are communities and initiatives built around shared interests, meaningful relationships, spiritual growth, and opportunities to serve others.
We recognize that people connect in different ways. Some enjoy gathering around a cup of coffee, others connect through fitness, music, or a shared interest in cars. Some are looking for a place to study Scripture, while others want to become more involved in sharing their faith.
The Ministry brings these opportunities together through Formation Groups, creating spaces where people can build relationships, grow in their understanding of God, and participate in the work of the gospel.
Each group has its own purpose, but all are grounded in Scripture and connected to our larger mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.

More Than a Traditional Small Group
Small groups play an important role in the life of the local church. They provide opportunities to study Scripture, pray together, and develop meaningful relationships.
Formation Groups build upon those same biblical principles while creating additional ways for people to connect and participate.
Some groups gather specifically for Bible study and discussion. Others bring people together through activities, shared interests, service, or community outreach.
We believe these experiences can provide natural opportunities for relationships to develop and conversations about faith to take place.
Formation Groups aren’t intended to replace traditional small groups or the fellowship found within the local church. They offer additional opportunities for believers to engage with one another and invite others into Christian community.

Connecting Through Everyday Life
Not everyone is comfortable attending a Bible study or walking into a church for the first time. For some, an invitation to grab coffee, attend a car gathering, or participate in a fitness group may feel more approachable.
Shared interests can create opportunities for people to meet, develop friendships, and begin conversations they might not otherwise have.
Within The Ministry, we want to make room for those encounters.
Our gatherings are intentionally shaped by Christian faith, but we also recognize the importance of allowing relationships to develop naturally. We want people to feel welcome, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations about God and the gospel.
These experiences can become opportunities for believers to encourage one another and for those who don’t know Christ to encounter His truth.
Different Groups, One Mission

Formation Groups serve different purposes within The Ministry’s four pillars.
Some focus primarily on understanding Scripture and developing spiritual maturity. Others emphasize faithful living, Christian fellowship, or opportunities to share the gospel.
A group doesn’t need to fulfill every purpose equally.
What matters is that each group contributes to the larger mission of helping people know Christ, grow in their faith, and live as His disciples.
Through these different opportunities, we seek to strengthen believers, build meaningful relationships, equip people for ministry, and reach those who have not yet heard or responded to the gospel.
Working Alongside the Local Church
We believe the local church is central to the Christian life. Scripture calls believers to gather for worship, receive biblical teaching, serve one another, and live in fellowship under the care and leadership of the church.
Formation Groups aren’t intended to replace those responsibilities.
Instead, The Ministry seeks to work alongside local churches by creating additional opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, service, and evangelism.
Our desire is to encourage believers to become more actively involved in their faith while helping those outside the church encounter the message of Jesus Christ.
