Making Christ Known Through Faithful Witness and Meaningful Conversations
The message of Jesus Christ was never intended to remain within the walls of a church. Throughout Scripture, believers are called to proclaim the gospel, bear witness to what Christ has done, and share the hope of salvation with those who do not know Him.
At The Ministry, we believe evangelism is an essential part of the Christian life and a responsibility entrusted to the Church. Through Gospel Encounters, we seek to equip believers to communicate their faith with biblical clarity, compassion, and a genuine concern for the people they encounter.
We recognize that conversations about faith happen in many different settings. Some begin through intentional outreach, while others develop through friendships, shared experiences, or everyday interactions.
Our desire is to encourage believers to recognize these opportunities and become more confident in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Called to Make Disciples
Before His ascension, Jesus commanded His followers to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all that He had commanded.
This commission remains central to the mission of the Church.
Evangelism begins with the proclamation of the gospel: that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was raised from the dead, and offers forgiveness and reconciliation with God to those who repent and believe in Him.
We believe this message must remain central to our outreach.
While acts of kindness, meaningful relationships, and compassionate service can demonstrate the love of Christ, they do not replace the need to communicate the gospel itself.
Our responsibility is to faithfully make Christ known, trusting the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of those who hear.
Equipping Believers to Share Their Faith
For many Christians, sharing their faith can feel intimidating. Some are uncertain about how to begin a conversation, explain the gospel clearly, or respond to difficult questions.
We recognize these challenges and believe believers should be encouraged and equipped to participate in evangelism.
Through biblical instruction, practical training, apologetics resources, and opportunities for outreach, The Ministry seeks to help Christians become more confident in communicating what they believe and why they believe it.
We encourage believers to approach conversations with humility, listen carefully, and respond thoughtfully to the questions and concerns of others.
Evangelism is not about winning arguments or pressuring people into decisions. It is about faithfully communicating the truth of Jesus Christ while demonstrating genuine love and respect for those we encounter.
Gospel Encounters Within The Ministry
Gospel Encounters is one of The Ministry’s four pillars, emphasizing our responsibility to bring the message of Jesus Christ into the communities around us.
This work takes different forms.
Through local street teams, believers participate in organized outreach, engaging people in public spaces through conversations, prayer, and the proclamation of the gospel.
Other Formation Groups, including Christ + Coffee and Music Ministry, create opportunities for relationships and interactions where conversations about faith can naturally develop.
We recognize that not every gathering is an evangelism event. However, every Formation Group can provide opportunities to welcome others, demonstrate Christian love, and share the gospel when those opportunities arise.
Our desire is to create a ministry culture where sharing Christ becomes a natural expression of our faith, supported by intentional outreach and a willingness to engage with people wherever they are.
Working Alongside the Local Church
We believe evangelism and discipleship are responsibilities entrusted to the Church, and our desire is to support local congregations in carrying out that calling.
The Ministry seeks to partner with churches by equipping volunteers, organizing outreach opportunities, and providing resources that help believers share the gospel within their communities.
We also recognize that hearing the gospel may be the beginning of someone’s journey toward understanding what it means to follow Christ.
When individuals express interest in learning more, we want to help connect them with biblical resources, continued conversations, and local churches where they can receive teaching, pastoral care, and opportunities for Christian fellowship.
Our goal is not simply to create encounters, but to faithfully participate in the larger work of making disciples.
Faithful Witness, Trusting God With the Outcome
We recognize that genuine conversion is not something we can produce through persuasive arguments, organized events, or human effort.
The apostle Paul reminds us:
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 (ESV)
Our responsibility is to proclaim the gospel faithfully, prepare believers for that work, and approach others with humility and love.
We trust the Lord to accomplish His purposes through His Word, recognizing that salvation belongs to Him.
